What types of services are covered at Urgicare Tampa Clinic?

Urgent care services are designed for acute, episodic care. Simply put, urgent care treats most injuries or illnesses that are non-life threatening. The advantages of urgent care clinics are that appointments are not necessary, and in most cases, your insurance co-pay will be less than going to an emergency room.

I do not have insurance can I see your doctor?

Absolutely. Insurance coverage is not necessary at our Urgent Care Center. We gladly accept most major insurance carriers, HMOs and PPOs. Give us a call to confirm our latest provider list. For your convenience, Urgicare Tampa accepts the following forms of payment:

Will my insurance pay for urgent care center visits?

If you have AETNA, CIGNA,COVENTRY, BLUE CROSS, TRICARE, MEDICARE, UNITED HEALTH CARE health insurance plans we have good news. You will be only responsible for PCP office visit which is less then Urgent care (UC) visit listed on your card.

Most insurance companies cover urgent care visits, but we recommend consulting your health insurance carrier prior to your appointment.  Many insurance companies require co-pays, which should be listed on your insurance card. If your co-pay is not listed, our urgent care staff can help you determine your co-pay. Most insurance companies encourage a visit to an urgent care centers over hospital ER’s due to your co-pay being less expensive.

What if my child or I need a physical?

We do complete routine school, camp, athletic and executive physicals at our Tampa Urgent Care Center.

What if I need a lab test or an X-ray?

If our urgent care physician orders lab work or radiology tests, our medical staff will perform the tests while you wait.  Some blood tests are sent out to reference labs and take approximately 24 to 36 hours to come return. Prior to the test our nursing office will provide the details.  Please contact us with any questions about a particular test.

What kind of patients do we treat?

From adults to seniors and children one year and older are welcome. We treat medical conditions which need prompt care but are not life threatening.

Who will care for me?

Our clinic is staffed with compassionate physicians and nurses experienced in family and emergency medicine.

How long will I have to wait?

Usually, not long. Patients are treated on a first-come, first-served basis. Our goal is to get you in and out in less than an hour. However this depends on the seriousness of your condition and seriousness of the other patients being treated at the same time.

Is urgent care visit more affordable than an emergency department visit?

Our fees are far more economical than a visit to the emergency room at a hospital. The cost of the same medical services are a fraction of what you would pay in the ER or a specialist.

Do I need appointment?

You can call ahead, but no appointment is needed. Just walk in.

What heath insurance carriers do you accept?

Almost all major carriers.  Please call our clinic to see if we accept your insurance.  If do not, we may be able to contract with them.

Do I have to pay my co-pay?

Yes, we contact your insurance company to verify your benefits at check-in and inform you of your payment responsibility. All co-pays, coinsurance responsibilities are collected at time of service. Deductibles are billed to you after your Insurance carrier approves the amount. In such cases you will receive a bill from the billing department after 1/2 months after your visit.

Can I be billed at a later date?

Unfortunately, no. All fees are due and payable at time of service.

I signed up for health insurance coverage through OBOMA Care "Healthcare.gov" and have high deductibles!. How does that work?

Unfortunately all the health care insurance sold on Healthcare.gov have high deductibles ranging from $4000 to $12000 per calender year. It means you have to pay all your deductibles out of your own pocket before the insurance company will pay for sick office visit, prescriptions or blood work. At Urgicare we offer low cost self pay services which will save you lots of headache and money. Please consult one of our experienced Medical care specialist for details.

Do you see patients without insurance?

Yes, uninsured patients are also welcome. And with our LOW rates, Urgicare Tampa is an affordable solution to otherwise expensive healthcare.

Do you offer payment plans or sliding fee scale for patients?

No, all fees are due and payable at time of service.

Do you collect Quest Diagnostics & Labcorp Drug Screen Collections?

Yes, we are a Quest Diagnostics preferred drug screen collection site. We can collect drug screen samples for any SAMSA lab in the USA as long as you bring (or we have) their COC (forms).

What are your hours for Quest/Lab Corp/Medtox/CLR labs drug screen collections?

We collect drug screens for above labs on Monday-Friday 8am-7pm, Saturday 10am-4pm and Sundays 10am-4pm. You do not need an appointment to be seen, however, samples are picked up by lab courier before 6.00pm on weekdays, and 2.00pm on weekends.  Try to arrive early during weekends. Showing up after the cut off time will delay your pick up to one extra business day and you may not get the results back in time.

Do you perform the Quest Diagnostic drug screen test at your office?

No. All HRS and NIDA specimens are collected and sent to reference labs for testing. Only pre-employment rapid drug screens with special arrangements with your employer can be performed at Urgicare Tampa.

When will my drug screen arrive at the lab?

The lab courier picks up specimens Monday-Friday at 6 pm. If your specimen is collected after 6 pm or on the weekend it will NOT be picked up until the NEXT business day. Samples usually reach the local labs within 4 hours and out of state labs the next business day.

When will my drug screen results be reported?

Reference labs such as Quest, LabCorp, Medtox, CLR etc will report your test results directly to your employer (supervisor) normally within 48-72 hours after courier pick-up. Positive results take little longer.

How much is Urgent Care without health insurance?
